He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford Holmes and Mabel Holmes of LuVerne, Iowa.; his wife Diane Rahm; his children, Jackie Hoffner and Brian Holmes; his sisters, Marjorie King and Audrey DeNio; and his siblings-in-law, Joe (Bill) and Marilyn Arndorfer.
He is survived by: his daughter Julie Sparks of Prairie City; his children-in-law, Barry Hoffner of Sausalito, CA and Laila Holmes of Dallas, TX; his grandchildren, Brad Sparks (Carrie Miller) of Woodland, CA, Nathan Sparks (Elizabeth) of Des Moines, IA, Benjamin Hoffner of Berkeley, CA, Daniel Hoffner of Sausalito, CA, Trevor Holmes of New York City, NY, Sarah Holmes and Lauren Holmes of Dallas, TX; his great grandchild Johnathan Sparks; his brother Doug Holmes (Linda); and his siblings-in-law, Judy Rahm (Carolyn Moffett), Mike Rahm (Deb) and Joyce Rahm.
