With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Marcella Mae Irons of Altoona, Iowa, born in Des Moines, Iowa, who passed away on August 20, 2025 at the age of 98. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Melvin; her son Danny; her parents, Ralph and Ardis; her siblings, Ralph, Richard, Doris, Dale, Carl "Billy" and Gary; and her grandson Chad.
She is survived by: her daughter Sherry (Dennis); her grandchildren, Tami, Brian (Amanda), Kimmi Sue, David (Lori), Valerie (Doug), Sharon (Chris), Paul (Maria), Autumn (Dan) and Holly; and her friend Jean. She is also survived by 29 great-grandchildren, 32 great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital and Every Step Hospice.
