He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Schulte and Marie Schulte (Bigge); and his siblings, Alan, Vincent "Vince", Harold "Bud", Susan "Sue'Schulte and Janice "Jan" Tranberry (Wayne Becker).

He is survived by: his siblings, Francis "Nick" Schulte of Amana, Cecilia, Becker of Marshalltown, Annabel "Ann" Oakley (Walt) of Libertyville, Christine "Chris" (Larry McDowell) of Cedar Rapids, Jolene Randall (Frank) of Ames, Brenda Kapucian (Tim) of Keystone and Valerie "Val" Schulte (Sue Ann) of Phoenix; and his sisters-in-law, Karen Schulte and Renate Schulte of Amana. He is also survived by his numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be contributed to St Michael's Catholic Church, Norway, Iowa.
