Marlene Werner Obituary
We are sad to announce that on May 25, 2025, at the age of 76, Marlene Werner (Amana, Iowa) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Marlene departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Marlene may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Marlene leaves behind.
She is survived by: her parents, Richard Lorenz and Josephine Lorenz; her husband John; her daughters, Alison Werner Smith (Tyson) of Iowa City and Megan M. Gerhardt of Oxford; her grandchildren, AJ, Gwendolyn and Eleanor; her brother Richard Lorenz (Kathy); and her brother-in-law Mark Werner (Christine) of Peel. She is also survived by good friend and a caregiver to her parents and in-laws.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, June 22nd 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Hotel Millwright (800 48th Ave, Amana, IA 52203).
Memorial donations may be made to the Tama County Humane Society or to Suncrest Hospice in Cedar Rapids.
