She was predeceased by: her parents, George Rasmussen and Rosa Rasmussen (Nelson); her sons, Philip Houghkirk and Paul Houghkirk; and her siblings, John Rasmussen, Pete Rasmussen, Jim Rasmussen, Mary Smith, Florence Jump, Georgia Capellen and Millie Archer.
She is survived by: her children, Nadine Houghkirk of Ames, Joyce Madison of Waterloo, Daniel Houghkirk of Cedar Rapids and Timothy Houghkirk of Tampa. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Adams Funeral Home. A burial will be held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Ames Municipal Cemetery.
