She was predeceased by: her parents, Elias Bell and Alma Bell (Henderson); her husband Alonzo Woods; her son Gregory Belle; her son-in-law L. T. Lawson Jr.; her granddaughter Andria Belle; and her siblings, Eva Mae, Elois, Louise, John, Mary, Leroy, Eloise, Isaac, Robert, Alice, Merle, Leonard Sr. and Jimmie.
She is survived by: her children, Michael Belle (Darlene) and Lisa Belle-Lawson of Ames; her grandchildren, Tasha Belle, Tyrone Belle, Nicole Young, Tahairah Deaton (John Jr.), Matthew Harbour and Curtis Belle; and her siblings, Frances Stokes and Shirley Lewis-Brown (Frank). She is also survived by 21 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Grandon Funeral and Cremation Care (414 Lincoln Way, Ames, IA 50010). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
