With sadness, we share the passing of Brent Calvin Wynja (Ames, Iowa). Brent, born on April 12, 1951, passed away on September 10, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Family, friends, and acquaintances remember Brent for his warmth, thoughtfulness, and the moments shared together. While he will be deeply missed, the influence he had on the lives around him remains. Loved ones will reflect on the time spent together. Brent’s memory will live on in the hearts of friends and family, a lasting reminder of the connections and experiences he brought to the world.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Wynja and Mary Jean Wynja (DeZeeuw); his brother Harlan; his father-in-law Stanley Murdock; and his brother-in-law Stephen Marxen.
He is survived by: his wife Maggie; his siblings, Les Wynja of Sioux Center, Nancy Olivier (Dave) of Rock Valley and Carl Wynja (Lori) of Sioux Falls; and his sister-in-law Betty Marxen of Cedar Falls. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, September 20th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at 3801 W 190th St, Ames, IA 50014.
