It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carol Ellen Ninow Gostele (Ames, Iowa), who passed away on March 7, 2026, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Donald Ninow and June Ninow. She is survived by: her brother Douglas Ninow (Michael Keach) of Tampa; her son Jefferson (Meghan); her grandchildren, Isla, Owen, Ezra Gostele of Chandler and Arizona; her daughter Kallie Fields (Adam); and her pets, Tigger, Dylan, Duncan, Jill, Kipp, Harry and Stevie.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Bertha Bartlett Public Library (https://www.storycity.lib.ia.us) in Story City, Iowa, to inspire future readers to realize their new or existing love for books.
