She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Grimes and Eula Grimes; her brother Gleason Grimes; and her siblings-in-law, Fabian Meiners, Virginia Hanson, Dennis Hanson and Tow Whitney.

She is survived by: her husband Steven Meiners of Fort Dodge, Iowa; her children, Russell Meiners (Wanda) of Columbia, Missouri and Valerie Miller of Ames, Iowa; her grandchildren, Sean Van Cannon (Vanessa) of Boone, Cassandra Pirtle (Rowan) of Ames, Mackenzie Meiners of Columbia and Savannah Newby (Jacob) of Thompson, Iowa; her sister Gloria Whitney of Lincoln, Nebraska; and her sister-in-law Pat Grimes of Milford. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
