Corrine Rutzen Obituary

We are sad to announce that on September 15, 2022, at the age of 100, Corrine Rutzen of Ames, Iowa, born in McCallsburg, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Carl Handeland and Gertrude Handeland (Christianson); her husband Orvil Rutzen; her son Bill Rutzen; her granddaughter Alissa Rutzen; her siblings, Lois Brandt, Ronald Handeland (Harriett) and Gary Handeland; and her brother-in-law Robert Schwartz.

She is survived by : her children, Jean Friedrich of Des Moines, Don Rutzen (Amy) of Smyrna, Georgia, Ray Rutzen (Karen) of Hayden and Joni Trammell (Pat) of Ames; her grandchildren, Marc Saddler (Ceci), Matt Saddler, Daniel Rutzen (Kirby Terrell), Amanda Rutzen (Karlie), Ray Kirchoff, Lucy Rutzen, Olivia Vilhauer, Madison Vilhauer, Dustin Rutzen, Kaila Larsen (Chris), Keely Trammell, Scott Trammell, Ryelynn Trammell, Harlan Trammell, Jennifer Terpack, Corey VanSickle (Jackie) and Amber Trammell (Jonathan Petrey); her sisters, Ardis Schwartz, Marilyn Holdredge, Wilma Myers (Stan) and Shirley Otta (Larry); and her sister-in-law Jan Handeland. She is also survived by thirteen great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Corrine's name may be directed to Saint Paul Lutheran Church.
