He was predeceased by: his friend Irene; his parents, William and Eulaila; his brother Dallas; his grandson Kevin; his nephews, Ron and Randy; and his former wife Gwen.
He is survived by: his children, LuAnn (Garland), Dean and Barbara (Mahan); and his niece Susan. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 17th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Grandon Funeral and Cremation Care (414 Lincoln Way, Ames, IA 50010). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Collegiate Presbyterian Church (159 Sheldon Ave, Ames, IA 50014).
