With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Daniel Shaffer (Ames, Iowa), whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Shaffer and Nellie Shaffer (Mayne); his wife Toni Shaffer; his children, Cathy George and David Lidgett; his grandchildren, Seth Long, David Lidgett and Bethany Lidgett; and his son-in-law Robert Lidgett.
He is survived by: his children, Daniel Lidgett (Cindy), William Shaffer (Amy), Robert Shaffer (Barb) of Ames, Danetta Hiatt, Lorraine "Lorri" Shaffer, Sonja Stephan (Steve) and Lisa Lemon. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 30th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Grandon Funeral and Cremation Care (414 Lincoln Way, Ames, IA 50010). A memorial service was held on Thursday, May 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Bethany Life (212 Lafayette Ave, Story City, IA 50248).
