He was predeceased by: his parents, Denis McGee and Bridget McGee (Allison); his sister Rosemary Bruce; and his sisters-in-law, Mary Kay Dufault and Margaret McGee.
He is survived by: his wife Judy (Jose); his daughter Carol Hoiberg (Fred); his grandchildren, Paige, Jack, Sam and Charlie; his son Paul McGee; his grandchildren, Molly, Emma, Max and Maggie; his daughter Susan Moutray (Jason); his grandchildren, Lili and Sami; his siblings, Margaret, Angela McGee and Bernard McGee; and his siblings-in-law, Jackie Chwialkowski (Bruce) and Charles Jose (Lona). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church (2210 Lincoln Way, Ames, IA 50014). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church (2210 Lincoln Way, Ames, IA 50014).
In lieu of flowers and other customary remembrances, Denis' family suggests that memorial contributions may be directed to Food at First or The Bridge Home, and sent to The Family of Denis McGee, c/o Grandon Funeral and Cremation Care, 414 Lincoln Way, Ames, Iowa, 50010.
