He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Muff and Elizabeth Muff (Kucera); his siblings, Larry, Leon and Marilyn; his siblings-in-law, Cel and Jack Heckman; and his niece Gretchen.
He is survived by: his wife Eileen; his children, Karin Muff (Jan Holtze) and Donnie Muff, Jr. (Dawnelle); his sisters, Betty Heckman and Barb Muff; his sister-in-law Robyn; and his grandchildren, Abbe, Elly (Mitch), Sam, Donald "Jimmy" III, Tommy and Katie. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church (2210 Lincoln Way, Ames, IA 50014). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Don's honor to Mary Greeley Medical Center, in gratitude for his exceptional care, or to St. Sebastian Sports Project, supporting sports programs in underserved catholic schools in Los Angeles.
