It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Frederick Oscar Lorenz of Ames, Iowa, who passed away on August 29, 2023, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Elsie Lorenz (Barthels) and Norman Lorenz; and his siblings, Irene Humann (James) and Paul Lorenz. He is survived by: his wife Roberta; his daughter Kate; his son-in-law Florent Deloffre; his brother Edward Lorenz (Diane); and his sister-in-law Connie Lorenz. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, and as tribute to his lifelong love of higher learning, donations can be made in his name to Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato, MN or to Iowa State University, directed to the Fred Lorenz Memorial Fund at the Iowa State University Foundation, 2505 University Boulevard, Ames, IA 50010.
