He was predeceased by: his parents, Adrian Cross and Vivian Cross (Slaughter); his brother Larry; and his brother-in-law David Conner. He is survived by: his wife Janet; his children, Nancy Cross of Marshalltown, IA and Terry Cross (Susan) of Ames; his grandchildren, Elissa Hodges (Robert), Trisha Thoma (Steven), Barbara Chism (Chris), Michael Cordes and Alexa Buchanan (Ben); his great grandchildren, Alison, Tyson, Emerson, Adrienne, Chase, Andrew and Lucy; and his sister-in-law Patricia Conner.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Camanche Athletic Booster Club, honoring Gary's lifelong dedication to student-athletes and school athletic programs.
