In the sacred silence of farewell, Harris is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that his light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of his loved ones. He was predeceased by: his wife Katy; and his son Dean Seidel. He is survived by: his daughters, Judy Melanson (Harold), Susan Zawacky, Ann Hinds (Jim) and Jean Wallace (Greg); his daughter-in-law Barbara Seidel Robertson (Mark); and his grandchildren, Russ Melanson (Ellie) and Sarah Klipper (Michael).
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 7th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Grand Room at Northcrest Retirement Community (2300 Northcrest Pkwy, Ames, IA 50010). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church (200 Lynn Ave, Ames, IA 50014).
