He is survived by: his wife Mary Peterson; his sons, Barry Despard (Janet) of Moorhead, Koby Despard (Melodie) of Waverly, Jeff Despard of Ames and Michael Despard (Kristi) of Kailua Kona, Hawaii; his grandchildren, Jordan and Hanna; and his sisters, Joyce of Manson and Susan of Janesville, Iowa..
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 13th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM at the Weishaar Chapel (1408 11th Ave, Manson, IA 50563). The military honors will be held on Saturday, September 13th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Rose Hill Cemetery (1915 7th Ave, Manson, IA 50563).
