He is survived by : his wife Lori Dooley; his daughter Staci Schnurr (Bryan); his grandchildren, Mikayla Schnurr, Nicholas Schnurr, Ella Schnurr and Payton Schnurr of Clive, IA; his sister Patricia Hatcher of Galt, CA; his brother-in-law Rick Bowlds (Janet) of Eden Prairie, MN; his nieces and nephews, Tara Biwer (Bill) of Eden Prairie, MN, Jenna Lange (John) of Shakopee, MN, Ryan Bowlds (Kristen) of Chanhassen, MN, Brett Hatcher (Karly) of Sutter Creek, CA and Sean Hatcher of Galt, CA; and his pet Maddie.

Memorials may be made to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa in his name.
