It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jan Paul Sherwood in Ames, Iowa, who passed away on July 13, 2025, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Sherwood and Delores Sherwood; his wife Mary; his sister Sandra Sheldon (Don); his grandchildren, Abby Mahoney and Leo Mahoney; and his nephews, Mason and Eric Hines.
He is survived by: his children, Amy Mahoney (Tom), Jeff Hobbs (Sherry), Jonathan Sherwood (Antonio) and Sarah Makovec (Mark); his grandchildren, Steven Mahoney, Molly Mahoney (Vanessa), Jalen Lancaster, Kaley Lancaster (Mason), Linken Lancaster, Liz Makovec and Ethan Makovec; and his siblings, Dave Sherwood (Joan) and Mary Martin (Lynn). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, July 17th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home & Crematory - Nevada (1418 Fawcett Pkwy, Nevada, IA 50201, USA). A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 17th 2025 at 11:45 AM at the Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home (1418 Fawcett Pkwy, Nevada, IA 50201, USA).
