He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Schoenbaum and Ethel Schoenbaum (Erwin); his siblings, Robert Schoenbaum, Ramond Schoenbaum, Charlet Moore, Connie Schoenbaum and Rose Schoenbaum; and his father-in-law Merit Kyle.
He is survived by: his wife Joan (Kyle); his daughters, Amanda Shreve (Michael), April Jiminez and Jill Beard (Barney); his brother Richard Schoenbaum; his grandchildren, Jonatan Estrada, Jack Estrada, Joseph Jiminez, Avery Wykle and Noah Lantz; and his stepgrandchildren, James Shreve, Cole Ferch, Hannah Hermosilla and Jamie Shreve. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 at 5:00 PM at the Adams Funeral Home (502 Douglas Ave, Ames, IA 50010). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
