He was predeceased by: his parents, Ellis Tipping and Gladys Tipping (Nelson); his wife Carleen Rae Ewing; his grandson Colin Michael Tipping; his brother Elton Tipping; his sister-in-law Joyce Miller; his sister Leila White; and his brothers-in-law, Frank White, Ron Burgin and Elwood Ewing (Woody).
He is survived by: his children, Michelle Carter of Branson, MO, Kent Tipping (Joann) of Urbandale, IA and Gina Jordebrek (Nathan) of Ames; his grandchildren, Conner Tipping (Meredith), Quinn Tipping (Faye), Danielle Carter, Kersten Daubitz (Jack), Lucas Carter, Caitlin Tipping and Jaxon Jordebrek; his great grandchildren, Francis Tipping, Doris Tipping, Hadlee Lawrence, Benjamin Tipping and Luna Carter; his siblings, Ervin Tipping (Jan) of Central Point, OR and Charlene Burgin of Rock Hill, SC; and his sister-in-law Gloria Ewing of Allerton, IA. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Northcrest Foundation or to the Ames Lions Club in support of a puppy for the Lions Leader Dogs for the Blind program.
