Loran R. Simpson Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Loran R. Simpson of Ames, Iowa, born in Waverly, Iowa, who passed away on May 13, 2023, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, George Simpson and Marvel Simpson (Murty); his former wives, Betty Dunlap and Betty Simpson; his son Gary Simpson; and his sister Ruby Lewis.
He is survived by: his wife Becky Pritchard-Simpson; his sons, Mark (Colette) of Ames and Marty (Teresa) of Ames; his daughter-in-law Darcy Simpson of Ames; his grandchildren, Scott Simpson, Brett Simpson (Rachel Winter), Lisa Marie McKell (Matthew), Grant Simpson (Jessica), Garyn Simpson and Judd Simpson; his great grandchildren, Lila, Louie, Marie McKell, Stella and Ruby Simpson; and his sister Mae Condon of Estherville. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Loran and Betty Simpson Memorial Scholarship for Iowa State University, married mechanical and electrical engineering students.
