We announce the death of Martha Jo Benson (Ames, Iowa), who passed away on September 16, 2026, at the age of 98. Martha will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Frederick Huff and Julia (Butler); her son Jeffrey Benson; and her siblings, Fred and Gloria.
She is survived by: her husband Donald; her sons, Timothy Benson (Susan Annett) and Jonathan Benson (Sherry Wise); her daughter-in-law Margaret Elbert; her grandchildren, Laura Benson, Sarah Benson and Peter Benson Nora Benson; and her sister-in-law Peggy Huff.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. John's Episcopal Church (2338 Lincoln Way, Ames, IA 50014). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location.
