He was predeceased by: his parents, Gary Lutz and Peggy Lutz. He is survived by: his wife Donna Schulze; his daughters, Katie (Matt McNeill) of Coralville and Amanda Baetsle (Lance) of Ames; his grandchildren, Matilda, Margot, Charlie and Max; his former wife Donna Lutz; his siblings, Craig, Scott and Laurie; and his uncle Marlin Lutz.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Ames (1015 N Hyland Ave, Ames, IA 50014).
Memorial contributions may be made in his honor to the Alzheimer's Association which was an important cause to him after caring for his father.
