It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Norma Carey of Ames, Iowa, born in Omaha, Nebraska, who passed away on December 12, 2023, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Frederick Zimmat and Ruby Zimmat (Haas); her brother Fred; her husband Bob; and her pet Gilman.

She is survived by : her children, Julie Carey (Mike Tackett) of Alexandria, Amy Carey of Vashon Island, Chris Carey (Julia Smillie) of Ann Arbor and Joel Carey (Kathleen Carey) of Olney; her grandchildren, Lee, Kate Tackett and Genevieve Carey; and her close friend Jane Wille of Ames. She is also survived by extended family, in-laws and cherished friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Jean's name may be directed to Bethesda Lutheran Church to support their community service programs.
