She was predeceased by: her parents, Harold Johnson and Irma Johnson (Willcox); her husband Lloyd Borts; her sister Ida Mae Hatcher; and also Renee Montgomery.
She is survived by: her son Steve of Ames; and her friend Karen Tapper. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Diabetes Association or First United Methodist Church.
