We announce the death of Phillip Baumel in Ames, Iowa, who passed away on July 8, 2026, at the age of 97. Phillip will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Phillip G. and Anna Baumel (Rohling); his wife Rita Ann Baumel (Dobson); and his daughter Mary Divis. He is survived by: his sister Mildred Woods; his children, Stephen (Helen), Elizabeth Ring (Bruce), Mark (Amy) and Margaret Stephens (Kevin); his son-in-law Dan Divis (late Mary Divis); and his grandchildren, Marie Baumel, Julia Baumel, Jonathan Baumel, Olivia Stephens and Luke Stephens.
