She was predeceased by: her husband Benjamen Ma; her son Stephen Ma; and her sisters, Ruth Suzuki and Peggy Liao. She is survived by: her son Theodore Ma (Gloria); her grandchildren, Austin and Alyssa; her daughter-in-law Christina; her grandchildren-in-law, Joshua and Emily; and her siblings, Thomas Huang, Dorothy Yung, Alma Huang and Marie Lee.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Chinese Evangelical Free Church of Ames in Phyllis's honor.
