He was predeceased by: his parents, Vern G. Carr and Doris Carr (Edmunds); his wife Betty Carr; and his siblings, Bobbie Stark, Phyllis Bryant and Jack Carr.
He is survived by: his children, Crys Newsom (Paul) of Wentzville, MO and Mike Carr (Tammy) of Ankeny, IA; his grandchildren, Chad Carr (Nadia), Jenna Schmitt (Monte), Matt Carr, Tricia Scarborough, Emily McKenna (Brian), Melanie Chanko, Ariel Stevenson (Jeremy) and Adam Newsom (Abby); his siblings, Mary Maitland of Ames and Jim Carr of Ames; and his sister-in-law Carmen Carr of Branson, MO.. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the American Lung Association or the American Legion Post 37.
