It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Thomas A. Baty Jr. (Ames, Iowa), who passed away at the age of 90, on July 1, 2025. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Baty and Fannie Baty (DeRaad); his wife Florence Martin (Rusty); his grandson David Andrew Nichols; and his siblings, Jessie, Mary, Betty, Rose, Ruby, Frank, Harold and Lloyd.
He is survived by: his children, Sara Nichols (John) of Iowa City and Peter Baty of Texas; his grandsons, James Nichols and Josh Nichols; and his brother Richard Baty. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Ames Municipal Cemetery - Ames (310 E 9th St, Ames, IA 50010).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the First United Methodist Church and Wesley Foundation of Iowa City or St. Croix Hospice of Cedar Rapids.
