She was predeceased by : her parents, Albert Bannon and Bessie Bannon. She is survived by : her husband John Robert Vann; her daughter Roberta Vann; her son-in-law Frederick Lorenz; and her granddaughter Katherine Vann-Lorenz. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In honor of her life-long love of reading and her devotion to dogs, contributions in her memory can be made to Ames Animal Shelter or Ames Public Library.
