He was predeceased by: his parents, Torkel Oppedal and Hannah Oppedal (Anderson); his son Kevin; and his siblings, Inez Duft, Alfred, Arvid "Leonard", Jean, Ester Lund, Leo, Delmar and Gaylord.
He is survived by: his wife Janet Risetter of Ames; his daughters, Denise Link (Rollie) of Ames and Linda Oppedal of Ames; his grandchildren, Alisa Woods (Arnold) of Des Moines, IA, Jonathan Link (Paul Tran) of Los Angeles, CA and Olivia Oppedal of Ames, IA; his great grandchildren, Rosa and Malcolm Woods; his brother Stanley Oppedal (Barb) of Ames, IA; and his sister-in-law Leah Oppedal of Story City, IA. He is also survived by many relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 29th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Immanuel Lutheran Church (604 Lafayette Ave, Story City, IA 50248). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 30th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
