William Boon Obituary
We announce the death of William Boon in Ames, Iowa, who passed away on October 4, 2026. William will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. William will be remembered for the impact he had on the lives of those around him. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew William will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture his life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. William’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.
He is survived by: his daughter Kelly Boon; his wife Phyllis Boon; and his children, Kate (Brent) and Scot (Jean).
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 19th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Collegiate United Methodist Church (2622 Lincoln Way, Ames, IA 50014). A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, October 20th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made in Bill's honor to the Cure Alzheimer's Fund (https://curealz.org) and The PEARL.
