He was predeceased by: his parents, Emil Opperman and Mabel Opperman (Dietz); his wife Phyllis Opperman; his son-in-law Ronald Determan; his grandson Matthew Determan; his brothers, George Opperman and Ivan Opperman (Elizabeth); and his brothers-in-law, Merlin Musfeldt (Delone), Louis Musfeldt Jr. and Bill.
He is survived by: his children, Manning, Debra Determan of San Diego, California, Janis Opperman of Omaha, Nebraska, Robert Opperman (Kathleen) of Rockford, Illinois, Beth Kastorff (Steven) of Geneseo, Illinois and Paul Opperman (Paula Connors) of Dubuque; his grandchildren, Brian Determan, Laura Scott, Andrea Joseph, Paul Kastorff, Justin Opperman and Megan Schafer; his great grandchildren, Adalynn, Leighton, Willah, Justus, Evers, Haddon, Scarlett, Anthony and Madisyn; his sister Jane Kimberly (Dee) of Boca Raton, Florida; his sister-in-law May Opperman of Beloit, Wisconsin; and his grandson Scott Opperman. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
