He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Joseph W. O'Rourke and Carrie Ellen O'Rourke (Byrd); his wife Mary Grace Derbaum; his children, Bill Jr. (Jennifer) of Flemington, NJ, Patrick (Kristen) of Elmhurst, IL., Tim (Maribel) of Chantilly, VA, Carrie Warren (James) of Story City, IA and Jessica Hulseman of Portsmouth, NH; his grandchildren, Tom and Megan O'Rourke; his children, Sean, Lauren O'Rourke, Eva Leeland (Daniel), Victoria Warren, Hazen, Caleb Hill, Elizah Hulseman (Abner), Isabel Willems (Ben), Charlotte Hulseman, Kaitlyn, Elisa and Claire O'Rourke; and his great grandchild Ryland Willems.
One highlight of his retirement was the 10 weeks in 2007/2008 he and Mary Grace served in Rafiki Foundation's Orphanage and School in Tanzania and also a mission trip to the Dominican Republic.
