He was predeceased by: his siblings, Lois, George, Russell and Curtis. He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Ulferts; his sister-in-law Mary Postel; and his sibling's children, Mike Shaffer (Nancy), Barb Lerch (Cheyene), Doug Postel (LuAnne), Sue Crump (Rich), Norma Mauer (Bob) and Debra Hendrickson (Steve).
