She was predeceased by: her parents, Margaret Bendixen and Werner Bendixen; her husband Virgil Rickels; and her siblings, Helen Fall (Wrenden), Hans Bendixen, Anna Marie Entsminger, Werner Jr. Bendixen (Joan) and Chris Bendixen (Carol).
She is survived by: her close friend Eldon Covington; her sons, Douglas (Joni) and Daniel (Jodi); her grandchildren, Casey Grace (Matt), Hale Rickels (Breanna), Emma Rickels and Alyssa Spiegel (Ryan); her great grandchildren, Oliver, Stella Grace, Harvey Rickels and Tate Spiegel; her siblings, Richard Bendixen (Arlene), Margaret Rohwedder (Tom), Evelyn Heinsius (Jim) and Chrystal Klatt (Steve); and her children, Steve, Kim, Terry and Kyle. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, extended family.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Youth Group at Wayne Zion Lutheran Church, Monticello, Iowa, in her memory.
