She was predeceased by: her parents, Alvin Peterson and Velma Peterson (Calaway); her son Michael Sean; her parents-in-law, Hans and Amanda Christensen; and her siblings-in-law, Jack Basquin, Delbert Christensen (Edna), Merlyn Christensen (Marcella), Gene Andrews, Duane Littleton, LaVeda Pine (Harold) and Judith Smith (Guy).
She is survived by: her husband Gary Christensen of Anita, IA; her daughter Deidra Christensen of Anita, IA; her sisters, Marilyn Basquin of Independence, IA, Joyce Strawn (Russel) of The Villages, FL and Evelyn Jacobs (Martin) of Elton, FL; and her sisters-in-law, Bonnie Littleton of Atlantic, IA and LaDonna Andrews of Anita, IA. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 7th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home - Anita (2005 White Pole Rd, Anita, IA 50020). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 8th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Anita United Methodist Church (501 Locust St, Anita, IA 50020). A committal service will be held on Wednesday, October 8th 2025 from 11:15 AM to 12:00 PM at the Evergreen Cemetery. A reception will be held on Wednesday, October 8th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home - Anita (2005 White Pole Rd, Anita, IA 50020).
