He was predeceased by: his parents, Iola Margurite (Lindmark) and John Sylvester Garvey; and his great grandchild Miles Seeley. He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Lynn Blackburn; his children, Kara Lincoln, Molly Garvey, Julie Tolly (Marshall), Ryan Blackburn and Robert Blackburn; his grandchildren, Freddie, Christopher, Robert, Kaitlynn, Bryce, Leo, Ella, Audrey, Mason, Orion, Oliver and Aurora; his great grandchildren, Maverick and Jessica; his siblings, Jerry Garvey (Toni), Denny Garvey (Janell), Joan Smith (Robert Johnson), Roger Garvey (LuAnn), Mary Garvey and Raymond Garvey (Missy); and his brother-in-law Lanny Lincoln. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 24th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Our Lady's Immaculate Heart Catholic Church (510 E 1st St, Ankeny, IA 50021). A burial will be held on Monday, June 30th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery (34024 Veterans Memorial Dr, Adel, IA 50003).
