He was predeceased by: his parents, Warren "Jack" and Mildred (Voelker); his wife Gladys Demuth; his siblings, Barb Lauer (Gordon), Robert, Kenneth (Carol) and Duane "Dewey" (Marilyn); and his nephews, Brooks Miner, Wade Miner, Aaron Mechtel, Dion Hegseth, Tim Demuth and David Demuth.

He is survived by: his children, Beth of Iowa City, Rod Miner (Jyll) of Johnston, Doug Miner (Nikki) of Ankeny and Shawn Miner (Carolyn) of Johnston; his siblings, Shirley Hegseth (Chuck) and Gerald Miner (Carol); his sisters-in-law, Donna Miner Amfahr, Arlene Adolphs (Willard), Becky Demuth and Maryann Demuth; his grandchildren, Joscelyn Lamalie (Kyle), Gwendolyn Miner, Emily Miner, Weston Miner, Allison Miner, Magdelyn Miner, Claire Miner and Sam Miner; and his great grandchild Kallahan Lamalie. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Don's name to the OLIH Foundation or the Food Bank of Iowa.
