She was predeceased by: her husband Dale Markussen; her parents, Elmer Applebee and Sarah Applebee; her grandson Tyce; and her sisters, Bernice, Blanche, Violet and Eunice.

She is survived by: her children, Pat Markussen (Paula), Gwen Harpster (Tyrone Baskin) and Steven Markussen (Beth); and her grandchildren, Mitchell, Tahnee, Brandi, Heather, Amber and Ian. She is also survived by several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Memorials in memory of Evelyn may be given to the Indianola Regular Baptist Church.
