It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gitta Nelson of Ankeny, Iowa, who passed away on June 29, 2025, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Gitta Nelson to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Bianchi and Violet Bianchi; her grandson Allan Curray; and her husband Earl Nelson. She is survived by: her son Earl Nelson Jr. (Wendy); her grandchildren, Earl Nelson III (Lindsey), Rachel McCarn (Jeremy) and Geoff Lewis; her great grandchildren, Hillary, Micah, Evan, Harley, Hailey and Noah; and her siblings, Joseph Bianchi, Marilyn Padellford and Richard Bianchi. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Rachel McCarn, who will ensure they are distributed in accordance with Gitta's wishes.
