It is with sadness that the passing of James Rodger Grimes (Ankeny, Iowa) is shared. James Rodger, born on October 21, 1950, passed away on October 12, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Keith Grimes and Margaret Grimes (Wilson); and his siblings, Aline Searby, Virginia Bettis, Larry Grimes, Gerald Grimes and Jerry Grimes.

He is survived by: his wife Joann Grimes; his children, Kelly Grimes, Dan Grimes (Sarah), Julie Jones, Andy Grimes (Amanda) and Matt Grimes (Maitlin); and his siblings, Louise Pence (Bob) and John Grimes (Nancy). He is also survived by in-laws, nieces, nephews, other extended family, and many special friends.

A celebration of life was held on Friday, October 16th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Solid Rock Baptist Church (409 SW Maple St, Ankeny, IA 50023).

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to Solid Rock Baptist Church (https://ankenysolidrockbaptist.church) in loving memory of Jim.
