We bid farewell to Jerald Henry Dirksen (Ankeny, Iowa), whose journey of life gracefully concluded on September 9, 2025 at the age of 77. Jerald touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. Though Jerald may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Jerald touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Meindert Dirksen and Louise Dirksen; his wife Bonnie Elaine Dirksen; and his granddaughter Angelica. He is survived by: his children, Tony Dirksen (Lisa), Tim Dirksen (Jule), Tricia Burns (Jeremy) and Travis Dirksen (Bridget). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Jerald was able to enjoy the last 16 years of his life thanks to Jeremy donating a kidney to him. Jerald would like to encourage organ donation for other people as it was a gift he never forgot or took for granted over these last years.
