He was predeceased by: his parents, Stanley Long and Bernice Long; and his siblings, Stanley, William, David, Carol and Jean.

He is survived by: his wife Wanda Rutter of Rockwell City, Iowa.; his children, Clifford, Colleen Eshuis (Darren), Cynthia Stankiewicz (Dan) and Curtis; and his sister Doris Fenton. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren.
