She was predeceased by: her parents, Jewell Steele and Lena Mae Steele; and her sibilings, Besse Shocks, Charles Steele, Willette Lovette and Glorene Galbreath.
She is survived by: her daughters, Garletta Cater (David) and Sherry Brooks; her siblings, Nadine Taylor and Robert Steele; her grandchildren, Brandon Brooks and Abigail Anshilla (Robert); her great grandchild Zoey Anshilla; and her close friend Samuel Howell. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, countless friends.
