It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Maria Mahoney of Ankeny, Iowa, born in Jefferson, Iowa, who passed away on April 9, 2024, at the age of 63, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Dot Monahan (Baynes) and Vincent Monahan; her husband Richard Mahoney; her brother Vinny Monahan; her in-laws, Paul and Viola Mahoney; and her sister-in-law Lynn Monahan.

She is survived by : her children, Meaghn Vogl (Troy), Caitlin Cook (Casey), Alyssa Weber (Klynt) and Ryan Mahoney (Emily); her stepchildren, Jeffrey Mahoney (Marcy), Jeremy Mahoney (Candace) and Regina DeMars (Misha); her grandchildren, Cameron, Cohen, Collins, Brecklyn, Myla, Wren, Rylan, Jace, Claire, Connor, Oliver and Jasper; her siblings, Shelley Schulz (Royce), Sean Monahan and Colin Monahan (Sonya); and her former life partners, Steve Knauss and James Anderson. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 12th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:15 AM at the St. Lawrence Church (1607 N West St, Carroll, IA 51401). A Mass was held on Friday, April 12th 2024 at 11:30 AM at the St. Lawrence Church – St. John (1607 N West St, Carroll, IA 51401).
