He was predeceased by: his father Keith Nickelson. He is survived by: his mother Gail Nickelson; his siblings, Pam Buckalew and Jay Nickelson (Amber); his nephew Jamie Buckalew; his daughter Kelissa Averre-Byington (Kyle); his grandsons, Kovin and Killian; and his sister-in-law Cheryl Nickelson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Almost Home Animal Rescue in Chariton, Iowa.
