It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Mary Elaine Barnard of Ankeny, Iowa, who passed away on October 10, 2025, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Clyde Osterfoss and Mary Louise Osterfoss (Jamison); her husband Jack Barnard; her brothers, Clyde DeVerne (Karen) and Warren Osterfoss; her in-laws, Ruth Lane (Gerald), Jay Barnard (Alice), Charles "Rex" Barnard (Doris), Glen "Joe" Barnard (Thelma), Bill Barnard (Lucille), John Sheppard, Kenny DeWitt and Bonnie Smith (Warren); and her siblings' children, Kelly Jo Osterfoss, Mike DeWitt and Rodney Barnard.
She is survived by: her son Rick Barnard (Jana) of Indianola, IA; her grandchildren, Christopher Barnard (Jill) of Morton, IL, Brian Barnard (Christine) of Fenton, MO and Jaclyn Wetzler (Andrew) of Indianola, IA; her great grandchildren, Logan Barnard, Taylor Barnard, Jenna, Aaron, Leah Wetzler, Lauren and Daniel Barnard; and her sister-in-law Pat Dewitt of Oskaloosa.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM at the Langkamp Funeral Chapel (2116 N 3rd St, Oskaloosa, IA 52577). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Central Church (815 2nd Ave E, Oskaloosa, IA 52577). A burial will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Forest Cemetery (934 N 9th St, Oskaloosa, IA 52577).
Memorials may be made to the Cedar Livestock 4-H Club.
